01 // Project Overview
Clean Water for Future Generations
Protect our Water Jackson Hole (POWJH) is a nonprofit in Jackson, Wyoming dedicated to restoring and protecting the Snake River watershed to ensure clean water in the region. They began as a smaller group, Friends of Fish Creek, and I had the opportunity to work on their original site as one of my first projects at TMBR Digital Agency. At that time, I was just starting to learn front-end and WordPress development, and that first site served the organization for over 8 years. But as their organization expanded into POWJH, they needed to update their web experience to better showcase their expanded issues and initiatives.

Streamlining the Navigation & Content Flow
To support POWJH’s expanded mission, I restructured the sitemap and navigation to provide a clear path between the issues affecting the Snake River and POWJH’s initiatives. Through interactive mapping, categorization of content and robust related content, the user is able to better understand the connection between issues and projects and steered to support POWJH’s mission. The new structure will also accommodate for future growth within the organization.
03 // UX Design & Wireframes
Shaping an Intuitive User Experience
Extensive experience with POWJH, audience research and user analytics informed the creation of detailed wireframes for over a dozen templates of the site. These prototypes reimagined a new content structure for the site to provide an intuitive and engaging user experience tailored to POWJH’s expanded content and served as a foundation for the UI design.
04 // Web Development
Flowing into an Engaging Website
After the design was complete, I stepped back in to bring the prototypes to life creating an interactive and engaging web experience. Pairing an interactive and responsive front-end with a custom WordPress content management system allowed the client to have full control over all content. Building a flexible component library also allows for future growth on the site within a consistent design system.
05 // Development Highlight
Understanding the Issues Through Interaction
To help the user visualize the of issues that POWJH is working to address, we developed an interactive and filterable map of the Snake River Watershed. Giving the client the ability to pinpoint the issues for each individual tributary allows them to show the breadth of their work in an engaging way.
06 // Responsive Development
Cascading Across Screensizes
Using current CSS best practices, I created a fluid site to be enjoyed seamlessly on any device or screen.
